When I received it, I thought there might be a broken part in it because the box was badly smashed.

Despite of my worry, it was okay. It's light like Hoover Platinum, but has more suction. It will serve me well for daily use.

Although, I don't like the sound. This may be a Dirt Devil thing because the other one we have has the same problem. Along with the regular low sound, there is a high-pitched annoying sound. It hurts my ears and I don't think I will use it when I have a headache.

I purchaed about 5 high powered full size expensive vacs over the past 10 years - bissel, hoover, Eurika, and a dirt devil boss and had problems with all - belts, motors etc . I read the reviews on this one and decided that I will try a much cheaper on . I am not disappointed- its small and compact - no fancy settings like height adjustments or lights, but it is really a good and powerful vac- comes with onboard extension and tools just like the bigger models- easy to switch to hand tools. Picks up dirt very well. Works on any carpet and really cleans. The handle retracts, so it can fit in a cupboard about 26" height. The one feature I missed is the retractable cord which I only found on a hoover, but that is minor.



I would recommed this vac if you want something small, powerful and not expensive.

This is the second time I purchased a Dirt Devil product and there will not be a third!! This vacuum cleaner does not pick up, so what good is it? It's junk and I agree with another review that "you get what you pay for". Maybe they ought to change their name as the "devil" is a deceiver (a vacuum that does not pick up my parrots' feathers??!!) OMG!

You really can't beat the price for the quality and ability of this little vacuum cleaner. But beware, it is little, best for smaller spaces or an apartment. The suction and hose attachment function well. It's very portable and easy to remove the canister. Although getting all the debris out of it takes a good amount of shaking. All in all a nice option if you don't have a lot of square footage and want a light, little cleaner.

The DD Dynamite Plus is a great, powerful little vacuum. Nice, clean sides get all the dirt out of the corners between carpet/wall areas and this featherweight little thing travels great around the house. The attachments are small and powerful enough to even clean carpets and upholstery in the car.



After about four years of twice-weekly use, this little guy started to give out. The hepa filter and a belt had to be replaced, which is easy enough after hunting these parts down at big box stores. While it still worked, after the 'fix', our DD has had the most awful screeching noise when being rolled back and forth.



Great product while it lasted, but definitely looking for an upgrade/replacement.

I have owned many cordless vacuums. My first one was great which got me hooked. It was an Eureka Boss. It finally needed replacing and I bought another. It did not work nearly as well. I called customer service and they told me the original was the protocol which was made better, (in the USA), and now they have all plastic parts and produced over seas. I thought this Dirt Devil one might be better since the price was a bit more than I spent on some of the others. I am very disappointed with this product. It is almost more trouble than its worth. The suction is almost non-existent. I know the battery has full power so this is not the problem. The brush seems to help a little bit when used on hard floors even though it is to be used on carpet. But having said that, the dirt just spits back out and very little gets picked up as compared to almost none when not using the brush. I'm looking into purchasing, which is based on reviews, the Hoover Platinum Linx cordless vacuum. However, I was surprised by all the good reviews for this Dirt Devil. I hope I won't be disappointed.

We have had it for two years. For a cordless I doubt you can find one better. It does a good job. Only problem is the battery will weaken over time like any other. Mine has lasted two years because I do not leave it on the charger, but only charge it when it runs down keeping the battery capacity higher and extending the life. I hope to find another one when the time comes. Every day use for two years is pretty good. I hope to make it to 1000 uses before replacing......

This vacuum did Ok when I first received it. I needed something small to keep in the kitchen for quick pick ups only. After a while it lost its suction power. I need to throw it out because people keep picking it up and trying to vacuum with it. All it does now is trap dirt in the beater brush and spreads the dirt around. I will be purchasing another stick vacuum, and it won't be this one.

For close to a year, I used this vac daily and loved it. It's easy to maneuver and did a sufficient job picking up cat litter and various dirt and small objects. However after about 8 months I noticed a significant decrease in suction as it took multiple passes to pick up simple dirt/litter from hardwood and linoleum. As it approached the one-year mark, after 1-2 minutes of use you could audibly hear the charge drop off. The problem here is the rechargeable battery is not replaceable, so a whole new unit is needed every year. Supposedly the new Accucharge model overcomes this limitation, so I'll be buying one of those soon.

I purchased this item based on some excellent reviews here but it was a huge disappointment. I have been meticulous about cleaning the filter and cup, but the suction is very weak. It will pick up dust and tiny dirt particles, but anything larger (e.g., toast crumbs) is either not picked up or requires multiple swipes or is picked up momentarily and then falls back to the floor. I never expected a stick vac to pick up large items or handle heavy dirt, but this one doesn't perform even light cleaning. We recommend you preserve the packaging and test it thoroughly in case you need to return it as we did.

I bought this in July 09 and by the end of October 09 it only holds a charge for about 2 minutes. I loved it when it worked. I used it everyday and cleaned the filters after every use then returned it to it's charger. I guess I expected a $50 vac to last longer than three months. My understanding is that the battery is not replacable. I have contacted Dirt Devil and am waiting for a reply but I don't have great expectations because battery is not listed on their warranty.

I purchased this vacuum in November 2008. After my initial honeymoon phase (being happy about the cordless part), well I might use it every couple months now. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, and all Pergo flooring. In the winter the brush on the vacuum does nothing but produce tons of static, making it impossible for the vacuum to suck up any pet hair at all. In the spring / summer, the little rollers on either side of it collect all the hair, so it must be turned off, picked up, and cleaned out every few minutes. I had very high hopes after reading all the positive reviews here, but unfortunately it just hasn't worked out for my living situation.
