 "A Vacuum that Really Sucks ;-)" 2010-07-31
By B. Knost (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA USA)
It works so well on bare floors. Most of the time the battery lasts for the whole house - over 2,000 sq ft. If I use it on the rugs and use the roller brush it uses more power and doesn't last as long. I highly recommend it. Love that there is no cord to be tangled up or have to keep changing where it is plugged into. The suction is very good. Gets up larger things like cereal. I use it at least once daily.

No problems so far with the battery. I do charge it and once charged take it off the charger.

I was using the swiffer vac and it became too much. Between the swiffer pads and having to wait so long in between to charge, it was getting out of hand! So I'm really glad I made the change. If you have a house full of hard wood or tile floors with just a few rugs, this is the vac. I highly recommend it!

 "great" 2010-07-29
By Marilyn S. D. (forked river, NJ)
I have recently changed from carpeting to wood laminate in my house for all floors. I looked for something quick to vaccum and lightweight. It is both. I use it everyday. The only drawback is that the rechargeable battery runs out just about when I am finished. If I had more to vaccuum I would have to wait for a recharge.

 "nNice cleaner" 2010-07-28
By V. Gilbert
The cleaner is lightweight and powerful. It looks good and avoids dragging cords all over and plugging and unplugging them as you go from room to room. Cup is easy to clean out. Charger is easy to charge and use.

Only negative is that the charge is not very long lasting and if you don't have a spare charging while you work you will probably have to stop after 30 or so minutes and wait for the charger to be re energized- a matter of hours. I stick it in the car and use it on our country cottage which has stairs-much easier to do without cords.

 "LINX stinks!!" 2010-07-27
By JamesSD
After buying two other less expensive cordless vacuums and being disappointed in them, I decided to "go for it" and buy the "best" one I could find. Problem is the Hoover LINX Cordless Stick Vacuum is ALSO garbage...just more expensive. On hardwood and tile floors, it picks up pet hair, dust and other assorted light debris and them spits most of it back out a few seconds later. Very frustrating. Another "bonus" is the battery life is extremely short. Waste of money. I plan to exchange mine for a corded vacuum.

"THE RIGHT VAC FOR THE RIGHT JOB!" 2010-07-25
By Janice Gudinkas (Willington CT)
Frankly I'm frustrated with reviewers who hate this machine, claiming that it can't clean the whole house and the battery wears down too quickly. Folks... this is a spot cleaner, ergo the size, power, design and weight of machine! This machine is perfect for picking up, in a split second,:...... the dog's shedded fur in the tile entryway [no more chasing fur bunnies]; dust bunnies behind the bathroom doors; cornflakes on the kitchen floor; and whatever dust & specks in rooms' corners. **Save the BIG machine for whole house cleaning on "whole house cleaning days" when the vacuum is running for a few hours, it seems. Use the right machine for the right job. Do you think the vacuum is too expensive? If I were just starting out on a tight budget, I'd opt for a full-service Hoover amd leave this on a wish list. Hey, eliminate your angst and use the Hoover LINX as intended. And don't leave the battery in the charger after it's charged, so I heard, or it won't work. But an extra battery....HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF NOT HAVE AN EXTRA????? Be prepared....the government surely isn't~ {sorry for the non-partisen comment!) BUY THIS HOOVER. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY! But make sure you have a good sturdy "regular" one first!!! P.S> Knowing my elderly and frail friends, they would adore this vac if friends kept it charged. No more bending over to sweep up dirt. And you can empty the can for him/her! It takes a village.

 "Great quick vacuum!" 2010-08-03
By John F. Filicetti (Kent, WA)
If you need a great vacuum to take care of the light duty dirt on your floor, the Hoover Flair should be your choice. It has the power in a very light package to handle all types of floor and carpet. This is a great vacuum at a great price.

 "great sweeper!" 2010-07-31
By James O. Hines (Bracey, Virginia USA)
Having a small area to maintain, this sweeper is perfect. It's like a dustbuster on steroids, and is emptied in the same manner as a dustbuster. I've used it daily since I got it, and so far, it does what Hoover says it does. Again, it's like a dustbuster mounted on a stick, and is not meant for large areas or entire houses, etc.

"Overheats too quickly (on carpet)" 2010-07-30
By singingpie
This is a decent, inexpensive vaccuum. However, I don't believe it can be used to clean carpets. We have a tiny living room and it overheats WAY too quickly when we flick the power nozzle on. We get maybe half of the living room vacuumed before it shuts down needing to be off for about 30 minutes.

"Don't buy this! Motor breaks down in less than a year" 2010-07-29
By Bama Fan (Virginia Beach, VA)
While looking for a light weight practical, efficient, vacuum cleaner I saw all the rave reviews on this one and bought one. It seemed great once I used it a few times so I bought another for the upstairs. Well, a few months later while vacuuming for about five minutes it stopped working no more suction and the motor sounded strange. It worked the next day but only for a bit then nothing. The second went the same way as the first blowing out by overheating itself or I don't know what. I have ceramic floors, always cleaned filters before using, and never had to vacuum more than ten minutes so really there was no reason for this overheating or motor blowing out unless it's just plain cheap and bad engineering. So, my advice is get something that may be more costly but at least will last in the end. I blew a hundred dollars in the end and am now looking for something better!!

"Great Little Stick Vacume...Don't Hesitate" 2010-07-28
By Judy Knee (Sullivan County, NY)
This is a great little Stick Vacume. Powerful enough to pick up Sand plus all the little lint stuff that gets onto carpets. So easy to switch between floors and carpets. You will not be disappointed. I originally had a Swiffer electric broom, but that does NOT do the small carpet runners at the door or in the living room and when you need convenience to do both, the Flair Stick Broom does the job. Do not hesitate to get this one. I searched for a good one and glad I picked this one.

 "No suction vacuum" 2007-03-07
By S. Lin
This vacuum did NOT suck up anything. I bought it to use on our hardwood floors to pick up dog hair and it left a track of hair and basically just pushed it around from place to place. The only thing that worked well was that it got very close to the edges of our walls, I think that's why it gets one star, rather than none.

 "Horrible product, deplorable service" 2006-04-18
By T. Low (Calgary, AB, Canada)
Don't waste your money. I have a model very similar to this, except it's sold in Canada, it's purple, and it does not say Shark on it. It's made by Euro Pro and is otherwise identical.

Within a month the rotating brush clogged with hair and jamme - I'd used it twice. I stopped the vacuum right away to clear it, but it was too late. The gear on the side of the brush had overheated in seconds and broke in pieces, rending that attachment useless.

I planned to deal with customer service on this issue, but was already very unhappy with them because of an order I'd placed for replacement filters. They sell the product in Canada, but you can only order filters from the US. I placed an order and waited ... and waited. I noticed they had charged my credit card, and then refunded it 2 weeks later. I'd received no notice of a cancelled order. Just my luck, they charged me when the exchange rate was higher, so my refund was less than my original purchase. I called to ask why I'd been refunded and the rep was useless and rude. She said she'd just place the order again. I wanted to know why the first order was cancelled before ordering again, and she ignored me and offered to re-order. I asked again what happened the first time, and she said that obviously I was at fault and clearly they had been mailed out and returned as I had not been home to receive them. I pointed out that I'd recieved no notice of shipping, no parcel notice from my post office, and no notice of return, and asked if her files showed any delivery attempts or noted a returned order. She ignored me and offered to reorder in an exasperated tone. I asked again, and she checked the file (you'd think I'd have been asking her to jump through a flaming hoop), said there was no inoformation about a package ever shipping or being returned, but refused to explain why she'd insisted this was so. I asked again why they had been cancelled and she said she would re-order them. I said I did not want to re-order until I knew what the problem had been, and wanted to know if the items were even in stock. She said she had no idea of they were in stock, but if I would just reorder them I'd find out if they arrived a few weeks later (I'm serious, she said this). Again, I asked to know why the first order had been refunded and noted that I'd lost money on it, and that they should not have taken my money in the first place if they did not have the items. She said again, "look, I can just order them again. This went on for some time and finally I said "look, I'm asking you a direct question and I'd appreciate if you would stop ignoring me and at least attempt to find out." She finally replied, "look, I don't know, but I can reorder them, okay? You don't need any more information on that order."

I was so ticked, but wanted to have some spare filters so I did place the order and gave up in disgust. For the next six months I got a monthly card in the mail saying they were out of stock. The canadian postage label covered any information about who the cards were from, so for the first few months I could not figure out who was sending them (they just said "a product you have ordered is not available and will be sent when new stock arrives in a few days." Brilliant.)

Six months later I finally got my filters. These are a standard item for a model that is in current production.

Their rep has been so useless and so rude that I decided it was not worth getting service for the item (oh, you have to ship it back to the US to get it fixed).

This model has lousy suction, and spits up half of what is does pick up when you turn it off (shut if off over your garbage pail). The filters get clogged fast, and tons of dust seeps out around the seams. I use it to pick up small grain cat little from my carpet and it yacks it all back up if I tip it at all. It loses suction after picking up only a tiny amount of dust, even with a clean filter. The front can be very hard to get latched back on after you empty it.

It's a very poor quality product, but their customer service is even worse. I got the feeling that the person I spoke to just wanted me off the phone, though I began by being very polite to her.

I'll never buy a EuroPro product again. I don't think I just got a faulty model, because all aspects of the product are bad quality. Also, because the service is so poor, you can't rely on any assistance if the model breaks. It's too risky.

I have a Bissel carpet cleaner that is head and shoulders above the quality of any other vacuum product I've owned. All of the little details are superior. Buy Bissel if you can.

"Why didn't I buy the Dirt Devil?" 2005-09-05
By Janet Asbury (Chicago, IL)
I bought this item and was satisfied with it for the first 100 days or so until it completely stopped working. Euro Pro support is HORRIBLE. It took them 6 weeks from the date I called them to send me a new adapter; my unit still did not work with the new adapter. Then they told me they could fix it, but would charge me shipping and handling both ways. I am just going to throw it out and buy the Dirt Devil I should have bought in the first place. I had one that I bought used and worked for years.

The price seemed right, but the amount I paid for this (on sale) was wayyyy too much. My model literally couldn't pick up the little peices of paper from a hole-puncher on my desk (or on my carpet). When I first used the carpet sweeper attatchment I thought it was working but it turned out that all the dirt was just getting picked up in the brush (that is, until the brush was full). The manual said it would work better after a few charges but I've put some serious socket/ carpet time into this vacuum with no results. Don't waste your money.
