The vacuum cleaner broke within the first 5 minutes of cleaning. It started to smoke and smell like burned rubber. Turned out it broke the belt. I called bissell right away and they were very nice and sent me 2 replacement belts free of charge overnight. The other issue is that once I vacuum the machine gets extremely dusty and dirty on the outside. Perhaps because the connections do not fit too well. The hose is very short and once I started using it it popped out and threw dust all over the vacuum. Up to now it has been used twice but look like 10 year old vacuum. It is very noisy too. Despite all this said I am keeping it, because it shows that it picks up the dirt of the carpet. Perhaps a lot of these issues are due to the fact that I vacuumed a brand new carpet and something like a white dust was coming out of it. I had to stop the vacuum and throw away the dust every few minutes. It was amazing how much it picked up. we will see how it handles in the future but as I mentioned above Bissell customer service is great and the vacuum has a warranty so I am not worried.

I was looking for a new vacuum to replace my Eureka upright that finally died after 5 years. I have a Bissell floor cleaner and I have been very satisfied with this product. So I began looking on Amazon for a new vacuum. I have 3 cats and a dog, so I needed a vacuum powerful enough to clean up their hair. After reading the positive reviews and seeing the good price, I bought the Bissell Cleanview Helix. To my suprise, I received the vacuum in 3 days (with the free shipping)!! It was easy to assemble and I began vacuuming right away. The vacuum is very light weight but very powerful! It did any amazing job on the pet hair and on my tile floor, as well as the carpet. So far I am very happy with my purchase. Great product at a good price.

This is a great vacuum. I had an old canister vac that totally blew! Once we got this vacuum I realized how bad my old vacuum was. It is super easy to assemble. The first time I used it, I emptied the collector 3 times. It sucked up stuff that I didn't know was in my carpet. The attachments are easy to use. I only wish the cord was longer. It also cleans tile well. I am very pleased with my purchase.

When my Eureka Maxima went up in smoke one day, I decided to try a comparably-priced and weighting replacement of a different brand. Reviews suggested this might be the right one. One thing I like is that, unlike nearly all Eureka models, the exhaust air comes out the side rather than blowing things around in front of your path. It is very easy to assemble, with one screw securing the upper to the lower portion, then putting the accessories in place. It's not quite as easy to push around my thick carpet as my Maxima, which actually pulls itself along with its brush roller, but is easy to push on my thin carpet. It appears to pick up about the same amount of dust as my Maxima, perhaps with more trips, as it isn't quite as wide. The main dust cup isn't nearly as large as the huge one on the Maxima. This isn't a problem for me, as I only have a small area to cover. However, this may be a problem if you have a huge area to cover, heavy traffic and vacuum it infrequently. Unlike the single large washable HEPA filter on the Maxima, which also serves as a baffle, you have a small terminal nonwashable HEPA filter, after the air flow goes through a washable fluted filter surrounded by a foam rubber filter. The latter normally catches nearly all the fine dust not deposited in the dust bin above, hence is often the only filter requiring cleaning.
To avoid making a mess in the house and sink, I take the vacuum to the porch or patio at cleaning time, dump the dust in a small plastic bag and submerge the 2 plastic dust bins in a large bucket, lightly brushing their sides. Often, I don't bother washing the fluted filter. However, often I brush the submerged detachable "helix" above the dust bin, which serves as a baffle. Repeat with a rinse bucket. Make sure to squeeze all the dust out of the foam filter; otherwise dust from the inside will migrate upward during drying and form an impenetrable crust. During drying, I squeeze the foam filter hard to make sure the inner part is dry. I wipe up any dust that has fallen from the top and sides of the inner chamber with a damp paper or cloth and similarly wipe off any still adhering dust on the bins. Finally, if necessary, I clean the tiny pre-motor filter below the 2 main pre-motor filters, which catches falling dust after the 2 bins are removed.
